At Green Earth Painting we are
dedicated to using the highest quality paints, primers and other materials that are not only durable but, are health friendly
and easy on the environment. We use AFM Safecoat products having found them to be superior to any other in their look, durability
and lack of harmful chemicals. Beyond Safecoat's paints and primers they also have an equally strong line of health friendly
stains and sealers. These products also provide a long lasting finish, whether it be the trim and doors on the inside of your
house or on exterior doors, that need protection from the strong Colorado sun and the numerous other weather conditions. Standard paint
products contain chemicals called Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC's) and Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAP's)
that are unnecessary chemicals added to paints, primers, stains and sealers that are not only very destructive to our
environment but, are also extremely toxic to inhale. The latter is extremely crucial when it comes to interior painting. HAP's
will emit these toxins for at least 1 year as they slowly escape from the paint after the job is done and the
paint is dry. This process is known as "off-gassing" and by avoiding the use of standard paints we are creating
a safe home environment for your family.
Green Earth Painting uses AFM Safecoat products. I have used a lot of different brands of paint over the years and I have
never found a better paint as far as coverage, durability and wash-ability are concerned. AFM Safecoat trully provides
a health friendly product and their paint is environmentally safe as well. Many so-called "Zero VOC" products on
the market reduce emissions that cause outdoor air pollution, but still contain a host of unregulated toxic ingredients (such
as formaldehyde, ammonia, acetone, exempt solvents and odor masking agents) that cause indoor air pollution. Safecoat products
go much further to protect your health. In addition to meeting the highest standards of environmental responsibility, they
also eliminate toxic ingredients such as solvents, heavy metals, chemical rediduals, formaldehyde and other harmful preservatives.
One important aspect about SafeCoat Paint is that it creates a barrier so anything underneath the paint is sealed in. If you have wood with formaldehyde in it and you paint with SafeCoat, the formaldehyde is sealed in providing a Safe-Coat. This is SafeCoat's claim to fame. It has to do with the paint structure/matrix crisscrossing over itself to provide a barrier. If you are looking for real non-toxic paint, AFM SafeCoat is the way to go. Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams are not true non-toxic paints. They market their products as no VOCs and Low VOCs but there are still plenty of chemicals in their paints. Don't be fooled by these large companies taking advantage of environmental claims. Everyone wants on the Green bandwagon because it makes them money even though their products are not truly green, safe and non-toxic. If a company sells a so-called Health friendly paint product while at the same time selling toxic paints it doesn't seem to me that they are very dedicated to your health and the environment. AFM Safecoat sells only products that are dedicated to just that, you and your family and the preservation of out environment. |
